About Us
Sweet and Sour Sisters Pty Ltd was founded in January 2020 by sisters Seona Wheeler and Pauline Pepper, with the ever-reliable “Granny”, aka their mum, Heather Gillespie, lending a hand from the beginning.

The business began with the Yarrawonga College P–12 school canteen tender, with Seona coming from a background in education and hospitality (including a Bachelor of Business in Tourism & Hospitality from La Trobe), and Pauline bringing her caring and nurturing approach from the world of vet nursing.

Over the first few years, the business quickly expanded. Taking on the Sacred Heart Primary School canteen, servicing Mulwala Public School remotely, and growing their catering arm with events like Country Week Tennis, the Easter Tennis Tournament, corporate functions, birthdays, Christmas parties, and more.

In 2023, Pauline stepped back to return to vet nursing, while Seona continued running the canteen side solo. By 2024, Seona had consolidated operations and purchased the Hot Stuff Food Van, further expanding their reach.

Whether it’s a school lunch order or a wedding grazing table, our mission is simple: to serve with care, flavour, and a whole lot of heart.
Our Vision
Today, Sweet and Sour Sisters proudly serves over 1,000 students and 130 staff across two canteens at Yarrawonga College, continues to support Mulwala Public School, and provides catering at events across the region.

With the support of a 10-strong team, Seona and her partner Tom now spend their weekends catering weddings, parties, and community events — all while staying rooted in the same values the business was built on.

Pauline still pops in to help at events and the canteen, and Granny's influence is never far away.
Our vision is to keep growing sustainably — continuing to serve our community, create jobs, and deliver memorable food experiences that bring people together.
